SANCCOB
The Silo Hotel
Saving Seabirds Together
The Royal Portfolio Foundation is passionate about wildlife protection and preservation in all regions where we operate and is proud to support SANCCOB’s vital work through various initiatives and partnerships. We deeply value South Africa’s pristine coastlines and diverse seabird populations, and are grateful for SANCCOB’s essential conservation efforts.
The South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) is a registered NPO whose primary objective is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds – especially critically endangered species like the African penguin. Since its inception in 1968, SANCCOB has had 98,781 seabirds admitted, treated 54 different bird species, reared 9,870 penguin chicks, and has around 1,000 African penguins admitted annually.
By creating awareness among guests, The Silo Hotel continues to assist SANCCOB where possible by raising funds through various educational campaigns and direct contributions.
