A true taste of La Residence

We bottled our maiden vintage in 2011, and the wines of La Residence continue to evolve as we learn more each year about the terroir and how to make the most of its unique characteristics. Our wines are named after members of the Biden family, founders of The Royal Portfolio, and we are delighted to present our Nicole Alexandra Red Blend (80% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Shiraz) and our summery Rosemary Jane Rosé (100% Shiraz Rosé).

Our expert sommelier, Wayve Kolevsohn, is one of the first African women with her certification, pioneering a fresh approach to our wine programmes. Wayve will tailor wine tastings to every palate and is committed to building a mature collection of South African wines for our guests’ pleasure at La Residence.

There are many wine estates in and around Franschhoek with fabulous tasting rooms and restaurants. We have put together a few ideas to make the most of this landscape and the wine it produces.
